Product Review: VolumExpress Cat Eyes Mascara

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Every successful huntress knows that her eyes are her most powerful weapon. Sure the mane helps attract attention and the talons assist in pinning him down, but it’s her stop-him-in-his-tracks gaze that hypnotizes her prety and keeps him captive.

Turning plain lovely eyes into drop-dead gorgeous eyes, Maybelline New York has developed the Volum’Express Hyper Curl Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara.
Evoking the dramatic intensity of a feline gaze with its dramatic visual impact, and the swiftness of a big cat’s sinuous moves in its ease of application, Volum’Express Hyper Curl Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara is the purr-fect mascara for the fiercely sexy woman.
Think of it as brush on ammunition for the femme fatale. it’s so daring it’s dangerous.
I got this almost a month ago, was actually looking for the Stiletto mascara also from Maybelline but wasn’t able to get one and then i saw this. The chic black-pink packaging got me intrigued 🙂
yep, it looks like a comb…actually, it is a comb! it’s not actually new to me since i’ve had comb-like wand from other brands like Fasio. But this one really separates the lashes, and gives you more volume and length. It doesn’t pull the curl down. I usually use my Shiseido primer first before applying mascara to hold the curl…but this one, puts my lash primer to rest. 🙂

my lashes after one coat…
(curled my lashes with Shu Uemura curler)

curled + one coat of mascara VS curled

volumized and lengthened lashes in just one coat…meowr!
LOL

what i love:

  • cheaper than my used-to-be HG MAC Plush Lash mascara. Priced at Php385 (or less..i forgot!)
  • smudge-proof and waterproof…really stays put the whole day!
  • the chic packaging
  • no more wiggling at the roots! just comb your lashes and…HELLO, SEXY EYES!
  • would last a long time since one coat is already enough to have more length, more volume and more lifted lashes

what i hate:

  • hard to cleanse off…well, i’m just using a mild makeup remover (NIVEA). maybe it would be much easier if i use my Shu or my MAC cleanse-off oils
  • i can’t think of anything else to hate about it!

and yeah, it’s final. this is definitely my current HG mascara.

Hmm, i wish it comes in Brown too. But that won’t be as feline-looking, no?

tata!

Wow…love how your lashes look after applying mascara. I agree with Nikki, it seems comparable to Fasio.

Ooohh…totally nice! I know now what I will try when I am in the market for mascara (which should be soon). 🙂 I hate when mascaras clump on me and I like the wand on this!

It looks great! I want to have this too but I read in GT that this is very hard to remove so I didn’t purchase this..maybe if I have my Lancome Bi Facil eye makeup remover, I’ll try this hehe 🙂

Hi Jheng, thanks for posting a review on this. I saw at a Maybelline booth last weekend but didn’t bother myself with it since I have 12other mascaras that I have to use up first; but I might just get myself this one to give my L’Oreal Voluminous a break (some of my mascaras haven’t been opened anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt getting a new one. hehe). I’m just freaking obsessed with my eyes. Thanks again!

Thanks for the review Jheng! I have Shiseido’s Majorlica Majorca Mascara and they have the same applicator wand that looks like a mini comb! This is a great alternative!!
