Something New: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (and swatches)

It’s not lipstick, nor it is gloss. It’s like nothing you’ve experienced before. It’s lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte. These long lasting lip creams come in 11 different colors that will be sure to keep your lips moisturized and colorful!

I kinda hate Sol for not letting me know earlier about these gorgeous lip creams. Now i still have to wait for the next batch to arrive before i get hold of them. If only i can keep the testers she lent me, wahahhaa. So why the hurry, you ask?

See for yourselves:

[L-R]: Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Istanbul, London
Milan, Monte Carlo, San Paulo, Stockholm, London

and under natural light:

and then on my lips:

Abu Dhabi

Addis Ababa

Amsterdam

Antwerp

Istanbul

London

Milan

Monte Carlo

San Paulo

Stockholm

Tokyo

I personally love all the colors (well, minus Tokyo which made me look zombie-like because it’s too pale on me), even the reds! I’ve finally found a red that I can wear (Monte Carlo and Amsterdam). I’ve showed it to X and he didn’t let out any violent reactions, so I am guessing he likes it too!

these babies glide on like butter and it also comes with candy (more like bubblegum, IMHO) scent. once dried, it gives a soft matte look which is not drying. although they don’t stay put a lot longer, the color payoff is a WINNER! just let it dry first and it will give you staying power that is quite acceptable. i apply it in the morning, drink coffee and i still have some color on after lunch time.

priced at Php350 each, a tube will last you a long time because you only need a small amount to cover the entire lips. just layer if you want more color and pigmentation.

they are not available locally, but you can order them from Digitaltraincase.
Preorder is still on-going, details here.

With the swatches on your arm, you named London twice instead of Tokyo. 🙂 Thanks for the review!

thanks for this helpful post! with that said, i don't know how else to say this but you really need to wax/tweeze your upper lip (especially if you're going to be doing close-up photos). no insult intended, i am naturally hairy too, it's just not a good look and so easy to take care of. i never understand it when i see women walking around with mustaches, unless they dont' believe in succumbing to society's pressures on women and our appearnce. however since you're doing a makeup blog with posts on lipstick, etc. i'm guessing that's not the case for you…
